Allen Ostroy is the President of Great Bay Entertainment Group, Inc. He has been working in the music industry since 1992 when he discovered and broke the band Percy Hill. As their manager he acted as president of their independent record label until 2001. The highlight being the release of "Color in Bloom" which received the award, "Studio Album of the Year" at the first annual Jammy Awards held in NYC.
Allen has guided dozens of successful careers that are well known in the industry. His roster has included Strangefolk, Percy Hill, Reid Genauer & AOD, Moon Boot Lover, RAQ, Averi, and Nate Wilson Group to name a few.
He has been an active member of the University of New Hampshire Internship Program since 1994 and has provided hands-on opportunities for dozens of students that have helped launch careers in the music industry.
In 2001 he created Music Biz 101 Workshop because he realized that there was no place for upcoming musicians and managers to get "real world" information to help them succeed and he wished there would have been something like it when he first started out. In 2005 Allen became a feature writer for jambands.com where he continues to write a monthly Q&A column about music business.
He continues to be active in the industry managing, booking, talent buying, and teaching. |
